Young Women in Business
Young Women in Business is a project that focuses on fun and interactive workshops, with the intention of bringing awareness to the various roles of women in business. The workshops are meant to encourage and engage young girls, as well as bring awareness to gender parity/equity issues. The project aims to inspire young girls to break the glass ceiling.
The workshops are interactive, hands-on, informative and engaging learning for the girls. The workshops have been structured around the different age groups (7-17), with the intention of bringing awareness to the various roles of women in business.
The girls, through these workshops, have a chance to design marketing campaigns, learn about personal and business finance and accounting; the importance of Human Resources, be introduced to Occupational Health and Safety, and business communication.
A the benefit of the Young Women in Business workshops can be widespread. By bringing awareness to gender equity issues and being able to educate to young girls at an early age about their opportunites, the chances of breaking the glass ceiling and removing barriers becomes closer to an actualization and not just an idea.
A goal of the Young Women in Business workshops is to bring our program to remote communities in Canada, First Nations communities, and internationally. The workshops are planned, have been successfully implemented and we have received amazing feedback. We have impact metrics but we require funding to bring our workshops to underprivledged schools and communities.
